Our History

Founded in 1926, SSC Napoli has grown from a local team representing the heart of southern Italy to one of the most iconic clubs in world football. Through decades of highs and lows, the club has always carried a unique identity: passion, resilience, and an unbreakable bond with the city of Naples.

Napoli's golden era began in the 1980s, when the arrival of Diego Armando Maradona changed everything. With his brilliance and charisma, the team conquered its first Serie A title in 1987, followed by another in 1990, and the memorable UEFA Cup victory in 1989. Maradona’s impact wasn’t just sporting — it reshaped the culture and spirit of the entire city.

After financial struggles and a complete rebirth in the early 2000s, Napoli fought their way back to the top, returning to Serie A and re-establishing themselves as a force both in Italy and Europe. In 2023, the club wrote a new chapter in history by winning their third Scudetto, more than three decades after Maradona’s era. The achievement symbolized the perseverance of a club that never stops believing.

Today, Napoli continues to blend tradition with modern football, keeping alive the same energy, pride, and identity that have always defined the Azzurri and their passionate supporters.
